Our guide and Mandela's cell

We were privileged enough to be guided around the prison by a ex-inmate of Robben Island, who was imprisoned for five years from 1977 for political reasons. He was a wonderful guide and person, knowledgable, passionate and wise. Our students once again carried themselves impeccably and asked superbly pertinent questions. It was an honour to meet our guide and his closing lines on what his experiences taught him were moving and special to listen to.
